Car Parks 2 and 3 Birmingham Airport I made a genuine mistake about the time, changed it 3 days before we went on holiday and was charged £39.95 which I thought was very expensive. My only misunderstanding was pressing for a ticket at the barrier thinking that was correct, finding out on leaving that ticket was for non booking and was for £392, resolved straight away via intercom but maybe should be made clearer that ticket will auto print on plate recognition when turn up. We had pre paid. We were asked for over £750 to exit. Took a few minutes to sort. It could be made clearer that the registration recognition system will let you out and not the card. Your car parking is by no means the cheapest at the airport, so I do expect better service, and on this occasion you fell short - I obviously had paid in advance, and I also included late arrival cover, yet when I reached the exit, and your OCR cameras clearly had read my registration, I was still held up for a good ten minutes while I had to explain to your representative who I was, give my registration, car make and colour. I always use you services particularly at Birmingham, and a week's parking at CP 1, 2 or 3 is usually around the £60.00 mark. This time it was over £80.00!! Car Parks 2 and 3 Birmingham Airport The car parks are well positioned and easy to access and I would recommend them for anyone flying from Birmingham. A couple of comments though. In the last 2 times I’ve used the service, the automatic vehicle recognition did not work and I’ve had to contact the help desk to provide my details. It’s just a bit annoying after a long flight when you want to go home! Also the last time, I arrived back around 6am in the morning and the car park was in absolute darkness. If you use the advanced check in option for your flight it makes sense to save time elsewhere. Was at the security gate in the terminal within 5 minutes of parking up. Saves a lot of time and hassle as you don't have to factor in an extra hour for carpark transfers and bus rides.
