Getting From Liverpool Airport to City Centre

The heart of bustling Liverpool is located just under 9 miles away from Liverpool Airport. Getting there through different transportation means is easy-peasy!

Arriva Buses operate at the airport, and the AirLink 500 bus goes into the centre of Liverpool (calling at just one station, Liverpool One Bus Station) every 30 minutes, 7 days a week until 6:00pm. The journey takes 25 minutes, with a single ticket costing £3.00.

The first and last AirLink 500 buses depart the airport at 4:42am and 6:56pm. Buses from Liverpool to the airport first depart at 5:04am from Liverpool One Bus Station, with the last one at 7:16pm.

There are also the 80A, 82A and 86A buses which run between the city and the airport. Journey time is around 20 minutes, with buses running every 15 - 30 minute from Liverpool Airport. An adult ticket is £2.10 and a child ticket is £1.40. The first one of these buses leaves Liverpool Airport at 4:59am.

The Arriva 86A from Liverpool city centre to Liverpool Airport via Liverpool South Parkway is in service 24 hours a day, as is the Stagecoach 86 which runs via Liverpool One and Penny Lane.

By Taxi

A taxi to Liverpool's city centre takes 20 minutes from the airport, and costs around £18.00.

If you haven't booked in advance, there is a black cab taxi rank situated outside the terminal entrance. All taxis can take up to 5 passengers and are also wheelchair accessible.

Pre-booked private hire taxis will collect you from one of the car parks.

By Rail

The closest train station to Liverpool Airport is Liverpool South Parkway station, which is located 2 miles away. You can get to the train station by bus or taxi.

To get to the heart of Liverpool from Liverpool South Parkway, alight at Liverpool Lime Street station. Direct journeys take around 10 minutes, and a single off-peak fare costs £3.40.

By Car

Liverpool Airport is in convenient location that's within easy reach of M56, M57, and M62. The city centre is a 20 minute drive in good traffic.
