London City Airport by Road vs Rail, Coach or Taxi
Being located in the centre of the capital, London City Airport is easily accessible by a variety of means of transport. If you have packed a lot of luggage, are travelling with kids, or are flying at an early or late hour when public transport isn't so frequent, then taking your own car is undoubtedly one of the best ways to go.
Some travellers are put off using their car to get to the airport because of the perceived high cost of doing so - but using Airpark's choice of London City Airport parking you can store your car safely and securely for as little as £21 a day.
If you still aren't convinced, here are some of the other options.
Rail
London City Airport is served by the Docklands Light Railway, which links to London Underground and national rail stations. Because of London's bustling and busy nature, train travel will only really work if you are carrying minimum luggage; otherwise it can be a nightmare trying to squeeze onto packed trains.
Coach
Shuttle buses run between the airport and the centre of London. These aren't too expensive and can be a good option if you're based in central London. Otherwise you will probably have to get a train, taxi or bus just to get to the shuttle bus departure points.
Taxi
London taxis are known for being pricey. So while a taxi can be a convenient way to get to the airport, car may be cheaper.
