Airparks ShortRun - Summer Special Birmingham Airport We were given clear instructions on where to park and offered an upgrade which we did not take. The bus was waiting and the driver was polite and helpful. Within minutes, we left the car park and were driven swiftly to the airport. The driver also explained where we should go to be collected on our return. Having had a traumatic time at Paphos Airport and hence being very late, we were delighted to see a bus waiting just outside arrivals which swiftly returned us to our car. Airparks ShortRun - Summer Special Birmingham Airport The short run carpark was indeed 5 mi uses from the terminal, however the buses only went every 20 minutes meaning you had to allow 30mins from parking to terminal both ways. Transport systems to and from the terminal were fine. Poor airport signage to the bus stop was v bad. There was nothing in the terminal. The A sign was not visible from the exit gate. Airparks ShortRun - Summer Special Birmingham Airport The positive - short run is only 10 minutes from Birmingham airport. The negatives - the 2 gentlemen working there were determined to make it a difficult experience. The man on the gate insisted the bus driver show us to our space and told him to drive off without us (seriously!) making us wait until he came back from the airport. The bus driver was ridiculously officious regarding parking within some very small white lines - even though there were at least free spaces (no exaggeration). Our car’s parking alarm was going off as we were so close to the car next to us! On return to the airport we were asked to phone the car park - which we did several times. The phone was not answered and the answer phone said the car park was busy. We got lucky and the bus arrived anyway. On arriving at the car park the attendant was just sat in his hut - certainly not busy and certainly not answering the phone. Poor service all round from staff who appeared aggrieved to be at work. Collection point from airport , same as drop off point . In the past no problem, but there were more than a bus full, and felt sorry for the driver, trying to place suitcases in the back of the vehicle, while some were just getting on the bus , without being checked on. Maybe this does not happen very often , but could cause a problem for the driver. Overall the best parking experience we have had ( after using a lot of uk airport parking facilities ). In about 3 minutes I was on my way in the courtesy bus and at the airport within 5. The bus driver advised to return via the same bus stop and when I did so, the bus was there waiting. Found the car park easy enough, quickly showed the booking reference and parked the car, shuttle bus was waiting so quick 5 minute journey to the airport. When we returned we waited at the stop and another couple waiting for another company said they had been waiting 40 minutes but had seen a couple of Airparks shuffle buses, our turned up within a couple of minutes and once again quick run to the car and homeward bound. Airparks ShortRun - Summer Special Birmingham Airport Courteous and friendly staff member on arrival at the car park who gave us all the information needed to park the car and a map of the car park so I could mark where my car was parked. A very quick trip right to the terminal and the same again on our return. The return flight was delayed by 30 minutes so I was extremely pleased to see the minibus waiting outside as we exited the airport. A great service for a reasonable cost. Airparks ShortRun - Summer Special Birmingham Airport Booked this for just a few hours for meeting friends visiting us from America and didn't want to risk using the short stay in case of hold up. Good job I did as friends baggage didn't turn up so they were delayed getting to the arrivals gate. Once I found car park I was quickly checked in and directed to a nearby parking spot. Didn't have to wait for a bus as one was approaching nearby bus stop. Driver very helpful and friendly. Five minutes and I was dropped of at stand A that is just a few minutes walk to arrivals/departures. On our return to the stand we found a Bus there so once there was no hanging about. Again another helpful a friendly driver. Just over five minutes and we were back to my car and quickly on our journey home. Airparks ShortRun - Summer Special Birmingham Airport Once we found the car park it was great. We did t have to wait long for a transfer bus which didnt take too long to get there. We weee however completely lost getting to the car park. Your directions state not to use the postcode as it will take you to the holiday inn so to follow directions instead. Well at 3am when lanes are splitting here there and everywhere we got very confused, very stressed out and very lost! We phoned and even the man on the end of the phone didn’t know how to see ya in and said put in the postcode for the holiday inn which we did and we found it straight away as the car parks was right next to the holiday inn car park!! So why you tell people not to follow a postcode I don’t know. For that reason we probably wouldn’t use the car park again just due to being a bit bitter about your instructions making us rushed and all flustered! We even had to pay £2 to eat out of an airport car park as we ended up in there at one point! Which looking back was quite funny but it wasn’t at the time. There was a shuttle bus waiting and as the only passenger at the time, the driver set off straight away and took me straight to my car - he even drove around the car park to find my car as it was so late at night. Check in and taken to a parking place by the mini bus driver and then a quick journey to the airport. Journey not as good had to wait 20 min for mini bus so a lot of people waiting for a 12 seater bus luckily we managed to get but some had to wait for next bus . Getting back on the bus was a pain because the system was down when I arrived, and we were then asked to log on and get a barcode before the bus would leave. Only suggestion is that although directions where given on the print off details on how to find the short run car park due to the post code just being for the general area, maybe perhaps some more signage could be put up either nearer to the round about close by or along both approaches to the Car park as it was hard to understand in busy traffic, where the car park is as the premier inn is also set back quite away from the road for reference. The bays are also too small for SUV’s. tot to the airport waited for the minibus to fill before leaving. Thought it was every 10 mins. We arrived to find it was basically a mud track! Not great when your wearing flip flops (as to be expected when flying to a hot country). You need to re service the car park. When we arrived home our car was filthy as it had been parked on the end of a row so mud was being splashed at it for a week. It is unpaved and full of massive potholes. There are so many of them that it is impossible to walk between cars without stepping into them and making your shoes muddy. On my return only had to wait 10 mins for the mini bus. Dropped me right by my car. I have used many Airport parking places in the past. This one is very good. The only negative thing, is what other people have commented. There are to many puddles on the car park. You don't want to be walking through water and mud. When we collected our car the driver was not as helpful as the previous driver, due to heavy rainfall & the car park being gravelled the rain had turned the car park into a quagmire & we had to carry 3 cases & hand luggage through the mud in pitch black conditions. We are then taken to the airport in no time as there was no traffice, however the return leg wasn't so good, we were waiting for overmin as the mini bus had just left and said the next one was 2min away.min later the mini buss arrived and was then taken to the car park. (No waiting for automatic barriers to try and recognise your number plate) clear instructions as to what to do. The mini waits at an available space for you and they take your cases out of the car and load them in to the bus. 5 mins to the airport terminal and the driver unloads your cases. Return journey is just as easy, driven straight to your car (no hunting around a car park) and you don't touch your cases they are put back into your car for you. The car park was very easy to find and is very close to the airport. The bus drivers were very helpful. We did not have to wait for a bus, going out or coming back. The car park is a little bumpy. The only flaw with this time, was the car park conditions. The ground was full of pot holes. We were shaken about on entering & exiting the car park, which did not start are holiday or returning well. Also I had my car cleaned before our holiday & when we picked it up.It looked like it had been sprayed with mud. When got back to our car we noticed there was a plastic bag taped over the door window. We thort the worst & thort it had been smashed. But found out I actually left the window down& it had been covered up to stop it raining in. We really appreciated that & say a big thank you for the attendant/ transfer driver who noticed that. Airparks ShortRun - Summer Special Birmingham Airport First time using this service but it was fast, quick and the staffs were friendly and would use again. The problem was that the sign for parking need to be made more clearer and bigger, so that you can spot it from driving along the dual carriageway in the air, e.g like the Premier Inn sign and have it lit up at nights. We were parking when it was dark and could barely see the small signs, it would have be better to give the Premier Inn postcode and then you wouldn't drive down the dual carriageway, only to have to turn back. The drop off and pick up point was also very easy just outside departures and arrivals at the terminal. On our return we couldn't get on the bus as it was full but the driver called through and sent the next bus round straight away. We were very very pleased! Great service, my only suggestion would be clearer signage on the main road to locate the car park as we went round in circles for a while trying to find it but other than that keep up the good work. I suggest that you need to issue a map that clearly shows where the car park is in relation to say the M42 and other approach routes and you need to improve your written instructions on how to find the place by adding distances between key points. AND You need to instruct your drivers exactly where customers are to stand for the pick-up on the return. We were told to stand where we were dropped off but this turned out to be a place where you were not supposed to stop. Consequently the first minibus drove past us despite my waving at it. I had to stand in the middle of the road to get the next one to stop. In the intervening time I tried to contact you by phone. The phone number on the ticket we were given by the car park attendant is not the phone number of the car park. I was (eventually)given a mobile number by phoning that number. This mobile number did not answer. I phoned the number on the online booking confirmation and this failed to answer also. It thus appears that the car park is not contactable with any degree of ease. Lovely gent even moved my car for me as came back so find it was a foot deep in a puddle and he didn't want me wading to it in my sandals! Couldn't recommend this place enough for parking. The bus drivers were very attentive (Dave was particularly helpful) and helped with luggage. On the arrival the bus arrived very quickly, and again, the driver was very helpful. Also, the queue to get on our bus on the return journey was much smaller than that getting onto the other car park buses. However, the directions on the confirmation email were awful taking us to the wrong side of the NEC and the helpline could only suggest going back around the roundabout. It was only through a passing reference to the Premier Inn that we were able to find it, which at 3am was an unnecessary stress. Other passengers on our shuttle had similar experiences.
