Short Stay Blue Stansted Airport The car park was fine but too far away from the terminal. You said it was a short walk to the terminal but my husband is 84 so he was unable to walk that far so have possibly got a fine because I had to get closer to him with the car. Short Stay Stansted Airport Paperwork says not to take ticket when arriving as you may get charged twice. Pressed for assistance and was told fairly bluntly to take ticket regardless. Was then concerned we’d have fight on our hands! On reading ticket it looked as if it might be ok as Reg no printed on it etc. Thankfully it worked perfectly when we left - barrier went up and out we drove. Your paperwork needs to reflect this! I thought the instructions re entering the car park were not quite clear - they suggested the barrier camera would recognise the car registration but did not say a ticket should be taken from the machine. In fact I thought I saw somewhere that a ticket should not be taken as I might get charged twice. A ticket did appear in the slot but until it is removed you cannot tell whether it has recorded the reg number. I think some clarification would help. This caused a lot of stress as we pre-paid for the parking. Short Stay Blue Stansted Airport Easy entry and leaving via automatic plate recognition - that saves so much time and the simplicity and ease really makes a difference to your experience. Signposting to the car park, then to walk to terminal was very clear. To clarify the walking time from previous reviews, it’s a huge car park so it’s pit luck if you end up close to the walk or further away. But it’s a straight path, mostly covered once out of the car park so very easy. I’ve only my maltose 10 due to the cost. It comes very close to meet and greet, so it’s hard to see why it couldn’t come down a little to represent better value. Short Stay Blue Stansted Airport This was the first time I had parked in the Blue car park, I had previously used the Green short stay, and after reading some of the comments was apprehensive as comments suggested it was a long way from the terminal and parking was difficult. However on arrival there were plenty of parking spaces which meant I was closer to the terminal (it may have been different in the busy time of Summer holiday !!). The walk only took me less than 10 minutes. Overall I was very happy with the parking and would use it again. The last time we parked at Stansted, in February, the car park was situated near to the front of the terminal building. Now the car park has moved to beyond Raddisson Blue so be prepared for a mini marathon! My car registration number was recognised, I took my ticket and the barrier opened. On the way out however, I had to speak to an operator as the ticket machine wouldn’t accept my ticket. Short Stay Stansted Airport I booked into the short stay - Green car park. Happy with the service, nice and easy to just park up and walk a very short distance to the terminal. Only fault was the exit instructions, it didn't advise that you need to feed the card that you receive when you enter the car park back into the machine when you exit. It advised that you just need to Walk back to the Green car park. When you've collected your car, drive to the barrier and it will open to let you out. If the barrier doesn’t open, press the button to speak to someone at the car park. I pressed the call button and was let through, but it did mean there was a queue of people all doing the same thing. Your instructions for arrival procedure advise not to press the button to get a parking ticket but the machine automatically delivers one. I was expecting the auto number plate reader to recognise my car and open the barrier. This did not happen. I spoke with assistance and she said to ignore the instruction given to me by you and take the ticket and be sure to keep it for when exiting. This was correct as the barrier only opened once the ticket was inserted at the exit. Somewhat confusing and not helpful especially when due to a traffic delay en route time had become restricted and so my arrival procedure became unnecessarily stressful. Short Stay Stansted Airport Very close to the airport however sat navy incorrect took me to the airport delivery and signage for the orange short stay car park was poor, at 5:10 in the morning and not been to Stanstead previously I spent 30 mins trying to find the car park the only signs were very close to the actually car park, and at that time in the morning Orange and red look very similar also the one way system makes it difficult to get back if needed, however when I left they were great in sorting out the fact I parked in the wrong car park for 3 days. After reading previous reviews regarding number plate recognition problems we were aware not to press the ticket button and use the assistance button and after a very short wait we were let into the carpark and a short walk to the terminal. Only advise to anyone using this service :- don't press the button for a ticket or you'll be charged again!
