Long Stay Newcastle Airport Parking is easy as is exiting the car park in the car. The problem (as elderly passengers) we have is moving the cases from the car to the main footpath. The gravel car park is not really good for this and it would be more appreciated if proper walkways were introduced to save having to squeeze around cars or walk a long way to the end of the line to exit. Thankfully the man on the desk was very helpful and sorted it promptly for me, he said it was because the registration wasn’t the one on the original form so my only criticism would be that the change of registration number hadn’t worked even though I had received an updated document, maybe this needs looking into. Long Stay Newcastle Airport We pre-booked and some confusion on arrival at the gate. Sticker states 'If you have pre-booked take ticket' - no ticket automatically appeared. Other sticker refers to 'other customers to press blue flashing button' so we pushed the blue button to obtain a ticket, Also machine mis-read our number plate!!! ND came out as NB, which was probably why no automatic ticket appeared. All was easily resolved by your 'man at the gate' on our arrival back, who was extremely helpful and courteous. Arriving back at the airport after our holiday at night, there are no signs in the terminal to say where the shuttle buses are, and outside the terminal the bus stop was cordoned off due to roadworks. No one except regular Newcastle customers had any idea where the buses would stop, and we waited 15 minutes to find out. The bus driver, however, was extremely helpful and courteous. Did not enjoy: Despite a sign at the bus stop telling us to speak to the controller to request a bus on following your instruction we were told in no uncertain terms "the bus goes round in a loop!" Long Stay Newcastle Airport Have used Airparks a lot over recent years and the set up is much improved now that vehicle recognition cameras are installed at exits which allows for a speedy departure. The long stay car park at Newcastle is very close to the terminal building so a steady walk or courtesy coach makes access very easy. I was slightly disappointed on this occasion with the cost of the car park for a 2 night stay (£34). I usually travel for at least a week and the weekly cost is not much more, usually around the £40 mark, so I think costs could be reviewed for people who like to do mini-breaks. This is the second time I have used this car park and on both occasions I have had to get out of the car at the barrier and have my ticket authorised, yet the literature states that you should drive up to the barrier , insert ticket and you will be allowed to exit. When this happens the driver has to leave the car and go into the office (blocking the exit). The explanation it seems is that the registration number is not recognised I.e. Long Stay Newcastle Airport My husband is wheelchair bound and we normally get a taxi to/from the airport to Tynemouth where we live. It can be quite a hassle if we can't get an adapted vehicle. A friend suggested we take the car - I wasn't keen, only because I'd never done it before but decided to give it a try. The cost would be the same as a return taxi fare for the week we'd be away. Parking was no problem and the shuttle bus only took a couple of minutes. When we returned, however, it was pitch dark, pouring down with rain and we'd just missed a shuttle bus and had to wait another 10 mins or so. I realised there area the following day when I recieved the confirmation. This is when I discovered that my reservation was not cancelable and not changeable. This was not made clear at the point of sale. However when speaking to your company I found them to be very helpful and kind. They changed my servation but I still had to pay double. This was disappointing as I had the same space available on a competitors website for £2 more then the one week fare for two weeks. I felt tricked into purchasing my car parking space. However, we really struggled to find a space, a number of the parking areas were closed off and marked full although we could see a space or two. The areas that were open we toured around for about 30 minutes before we got a space. The parking bays are tight and we returned to s car door ding on our 3 month old car. We couldn't see any cctv cameras covering the park so feel that it's not as safe as it should be. The ding couldn't have been made by the car parked next to us on our return. Long Stay Newcastle Airport Used your service twice in a week - first time for short stay and it went completely smoothly and extremely efficiently. Second time was for long stay and was not so good. Car registration number recognition did not work so the wrong ticket printed out which meant we had to go to customer services before parking which resulted in us being advised to drive the wrong way down the one way lane after this back to the carparks, and then having to go to customer services again after our trip.
