The parking was easy to locate, simple entry and exit and the transfers worked well. That’s pretty much what you want really. The car park itself was very busy but there was space. I liked retaining my own keys. We have used others online which upon arrival have seen dirty uneven pieces of scrap land. They have worked but have not been inspiring. Long Stay Luton Airport It is very convenient with a good shuttle service. But it was very difficult to find a space, there were temporary signs to guide you to ‘spaces’ which were non existent, they may have been there for days. Long Stay Luton Airport My printed sheet had a bar code on it that was not used at all. When I drove into the car park without scanning ,I got worried it was the wrong car park and came straight out. This bar code should be removed from my print out. The road sign should also say Airparks, so you know you are in the right place and a direction, especially as there is a road on the left side of the car park. Perhaps a sign near the cross roads prior. On return it was not clear where our bus stop was as you exit arrivals. Besides that the rest worked like a charm.Please improve it. Downside was that at the return at the gates a payment of £196 was requested by the ticket machine.Must mention that I was well within the prepaid parking time. Long Stay Luton Airport Didn't take long to get to Departures once the bus arrived, however the first bus was full and drove past our stop. It was difficult finding a parking space too so allow plenty of time. For the return, we were unfortunate to get to the stop during a shift change - a 30 minute wait while the new driver arrived and did an incredibly thorough check of the bus, inside and out. No kidding, it was like pre-flight checks in triplicate. He was also completely miserable. We were able to park the car nearly straight away as soon as we reached the gate when we arrived, so near the gate: we could not miss our bus stop on our way back! Long Stay Luton Airport Found car park but as there was another car park on other side and that's where our sat nav wanted to take us was bit confusing but went into long stay and received ticket . On return it was dark with reflection in bus windows found difficult to see out and driver made no attempt to say bus stop number !!! . on leaving car park the ticket said we owed.00 and bar didn't not lift ,used buzzer and were told press stop to get ticket back, this didn't work and eventually her asked for our registration and said ok and lifted bar for us . We are not going people and I found this a bit scary , we have always used car park that flash up your registration when you drive through ( this is first time we have used Luton for years ) so you know you are in the correct car park and with no one there to as we felt unsure from the start. As we have used it now it would be fine to use again but the bus driver should be more helpful in the dark , especially as it make lots of stops before reaching the car park . In December we amended our car reg and printed out the confirmation. I contacted the control room via your assistance button by the barrier and had great difficulty in passing my registration number and booking reference to your operator as his english was not too good. However as thi was my first time parking at this long term car park it was extremely confusing: upon arrival at the barrothe post code was different and there was a sign stating this parking was NOT an air park car park. I did not know whether I was in the right place and the ticket I received at the barrier did not have my reservation number as stated on the booking confirmation. It took me over half an hour (trying to contact the reservation centre and looking around for more info). I then was able to confirm with the staff on the exit barrier intercom that I was indeed in the right place. We waited quite a while for the bus to collect us. Coming back our flight was delayed for over two hours and even though we had paid the extra for this probability we were asked to pay £188.00 on our exit. Surely you should have known form your booking that you would have need more than one bus? Way back was bad, driver just couldn't or wouldn't move out from bay in reverse and nothing was behind him. started to move then stopped went forward, then went to go back then stopped we waited a good 10 minutes before we finally did the whole reverse and got going. The only downside was that the barrier did not register our number plate on the way in so on our way out it wanted to charge is over £100. The only complaint I have is: I have parked at the long stay at Luton on several occasions in the last 3 years and have always prepaid and every time I have got to the barrier to come home it has not recognised my number plate even though I have changed my vehicle had the number on the ticket it has always said I owe between £168 and £172. In parking spaces the loose stone finish could be improved as it spills out onto the roadways and gets sprung up onto the parked cars by passing cars and buses. Long Stay Luton Airport Once I found the long term stay car park at the new layout of Luton airport I was still very much unsure if I was at the right carpark as there were no visible 'Airparks' signs to follow? However, on approach to the barrier a ticket did eject from the machine with my car registration on and the barrier raised but just to double check I spoke to a very helpful man over the intercom who confirmed my name/arrival/departure dates and went on to say there had been some recent confusion over Airparks long stay parking due to lack of signs and the Airparks base being a couple of miles away? Anyway upon entering the car park an adequate space was found quite quickly & in no time at all I was enroute to the airport via the bus transfer. One week later upon my return at 1am it was a case of hop on the long term transfer bus already awaiting in the bay, check my car over (no issues found) placed my ticket into the machine to lift the barrier and headed home. Long Stay Luton Airport The fee was very reasonable and the bus ride to the airport was fairly comfortable. However, on the ride back the bus was much too crowded. Also, we spent at least minutes looking for the car park - the Long Term car park has a sign which specifically says it's not for Airparks customers and the only Airparks car park is miles away and unsignposted. After a delayed flight and 'problems' with the Airparks computer system, at the barrier we were informed we had overstayed our booking and that we were required to pay an additional £170 to exit. We had considered possible delay at the time of booking but had exceeded this additional time by minutes. Long Stay Luton Airport When I came back from my holiday o have realised that o have left my car keys abroad. I had to organise someone to pick us up and came back to pick up the car with the spare keys which I had at home (1 hour drive from the airport without traffic). I was worried that whit this o will exceed my payed stay at the airport carpark and I will have to pay a lot in fees. Luckily after I have explained my situation to one of the staff over the phone there was more than happy to help me and help me avoid the extra charges (as I came back within a few hours). At the end even though I had a nightmare to forget the keys and to have to go backwards and forwards to be able to pick up the car, I had great experience with the customer service side of the airparks. I had to organise someone to pick us up and came back to pick up the car with the spare keys which I had at home (1 hour drive from the airport without traffic). I was worried that whit this o will exceed my payed stay at the airport carpark and I will have to pay a lot in fees. Luckily after I have explained my situation to one of the staff over the phone there was more than happy to help me and help me avoid the extra charges (as I came back within a few hours). At the end even though I had a nightmare to forget the keys and to have to go backwards and forwards to be able to pick up the car, I had great experience with the customer service side of the airparks. As a negative, we were leaving the carpark ay 2:30am, and the barrier would not open, telling us that we had to pay an addition £172 for a weeks parking that had already been pre-paid! Definitely not something you want to sort out at that time of the morning, after many hours travelling. It appeared that others were having the same issue, and pressing the intercom and speaking with a car park operator had the issue sorted quickly. We have yet to see whether this will cause the £172 to be taken from our card, but I'm hoping that this will not be the case. Long Stay Luton Airport The postcode of the car park was confusing against your documents. Wasn't sure if we had the right one as no registration number was printed on the ticket as stated. Had to call up to confirm ok to park. Person said ok. On return put ticket in barrier and it said I need to pay £172! Had to call up again in the middle of the night to speak to someone. Long Stay Luton Airport I didn't enjoy it. The car park was not clearly signposted and it didn't say on my paperwork that this pub car park was numberplate recognition. This would really have helped because the long stay car park appears to be pay/display only. It's very confusing and when I telephoned to ask if I was in the right place it still wasn't explained! The car park was really full and it was difficult to find a place. On my return the computer had broken down so the barriers wouldn't open. The location is good for the airport and the bus regularly collect's and drops off although they could be more bus stops at the car park so customers don't have to drag heavy luggage halfway across it. One down side was on our return to Luton the 'Airparks' bus bay is first on the way out so I showed our confirmation email to one of the Airparks employees waiting outside the bus to confirm this was the right bus for us (we parked in Long Term so didn't know if we needed the 'Airparks' bus or the 'Long Term' one) and he said yes it was (email had both Airparks and Long Term logos on it). We then had a nice round trip to the M1 and back and then had to queue in the 'Long Term' bus queue as that was NOT the right bus for us. The email did not state having to get the Long Term bus. We had pre paid so didn't expect to indicate when we put the ticket in, that we owed 21 pounds the intercom wasn't being answered, and it was only that someone else had a problem and used a publicphone, that someone went on the intercom, and lifted the barrier.
