Best Western Skylane Gatwick Airport I wanted to book a hotel from which I could get a shuttle direct to the airport. I landed up having to drive from the hotel to Pueple Parking at 4.00 am.
The Great Western Hotel was really comfortable with good food, and Purple parking was quick and efficient, so individually, both excellent. Marred by having to find Purple Parking and drive to it , thus having to get up earlier than expected. Don't know haw this occurred, as I thought I was booking the hotel with parking there.

The car parking however resulted in our car having numerous scratches and dints where seemingly cars were parked too close to each other and doors have been opened without any regard to the cars parked next to them. Normally when we park there it would take us 2h to get home from when we land. Now it took us over 3h with overmin wait at the airport. So we are not sure if we would stay in your hotel again. During one incident we found your reception quite rude but then realised he was acting upon an instruction that had been wrongly communicated to us. Best Western Skylane Gatwick Airport I made a point during booking that as there were 6 people and 2 rooms booked we would have 2 cars to park. The reception told us that they only had one car down on the booking. The guy on the desk was most unhelpful he said there were no spaces available and referred me to you. I tried contacting the out of hours number given but there was no reply. Eventually my wife found the chap who assisted us with parking the cars in the hotel front. Luckily he was far more understanding. In the end he assured us we would have an extra space but there was a charge. I paid the charge and tipped the guy pounds deliberately in front of the unhelpful receptionist. So it was very stressful to start with but ended reasonably well. Mr Ward 05 Jul, 2017

Best Western Skylane Gatwick Airport We arrived at 9.30 restaurant closed no alternative offered other than walk to a garage and get ourselves a sandwich. Shuttle bus doesn't run until 6am taxi option offered but was a shambles cabs turned up to collect a party of 6 people but wouldn't take their cases claiming to have no room. We gave our cab up to help them as their flight was before ours. Waited a further 10 mins for a cab which we had to share as their seemed no system as to who they were collecting. Best Western Skylane Gatwick Airport Pick up and facilities were OK,staff were friendly at car was ready at prescribed time unfortunately my car looked as if it was parked at a construction site very dirty.I unformed two of the staff they did offer to clean it but I declined for two reasons wanted to get home plus I did not want any paint damage to be caused. Best Western Skylane Gatwick Airport Not asked to leave car key when checked in . Waited an hour after ordering a meal to getting it served , people were walking out . When meal came they served me salad instead of peas with gravy !!!!. On return I rang up and they sent me to a bus stop at gatwick were hotel wasn't listed and didn't say what the form of transport was . After another call they told me the hotel was listed under a completely different name at the stop (days hotel ) and in fact a taxi would pick us up !!! . Best Western Skylane Gatwick Airport Worst airport hotel I have ever stayed in. Friends joined us for dinner and waited an hour for the first course after lots of chasing. Food just average. Waitress completely indifferent when asked what was happening. Fire alarm went off at 2am but no explanation as to why. Phoned from airport for collection and minutes but waited nearly minutes. on arrival at airport the hotel diver gave one of our bay to another passager at the south terminal on arrival to north terminal we discovered this and we had to go back find the other passager to get out bag what a start to out holiday
