Best Western Nottingham Derby Fabulous!! Jetparks2 was approximately 10 minutes away from the Hotel. Great for an early morning flight and a good deal too. The hotel itself was everything I expected and more. Days Inn No restaurant. No bar. It was a service station with a few facilities. Quite a distance from airport. Hard to find Jetparks. I was alone in the car so could not read the written instructions. It was early morning so it was dark. The post code on my phone took me to the airport and I ended in the drop off zone. There were no parking spaces at all, even though we'd booked one. The receptionist told us to 'just park anywhere' which lots of people had done (on paths and grass verges etc) but there was nowhere left. They tried to give us a free bottle of wine as compensation. We had to insist on our money for parking back. Luckily we had friends in Diseworth village so ended up parking at their house and getting a lift to the hotel (and then having to walk to Diseworth with our luggage) on our return. Hilton Vehicles used for hotel transfer apparently failed their MOT so bid not collect us from airport. No messages were relayed to us prior to arriving back at the airport. Therefore I had to call hotel and arrange own private transfer in order to collect my car from the hotel. This took nearly two hours, which delayed our journey home and resulted in us having to book a night at the hotel at our expense as it was to late to travel home due to having young children with us. The parking administration was efficient. Initially You park your car outside reception, check in and collect a ticket to place on your dashboard. You then park your car in the allocated area, then on your return, you retrieve the ticket and exchange it for a voucher to operate the car park exit barrier. No dramas! <br /> The walk from the hotel to the departure lounge is about 1/4 mile uphill, and could pose a challenge to anyone with walking difficulties, or in inclement weather such as rain, or on frosty pavements, especially when pulling suitcases. Hilton The stay at the hotel and use of the hotel car park whilst we were away was an ideal solution for us. The staff were polite and helpful and the shuttle bus driver even dropped us by our car in the car park on the return journey so we didn't have to carry our bags. Having said that the facilities at the car park was fine as was the bus to the terminal. Hilton We've stayed at Hilton before and the flight transfers were by dedicated Hilton staff; everything was great. Appears they have contracted this out now and we didn't find it as efficient. They no longer take you right to the departures entrance and the wait for the return journey was considerably longer. Express by Holiday Inn On return we could not get out of jetparks2. It took 10 minutes for someone to answer on help line. I was told the reason Was my parking expired at 23.55 hrs on the 17th. I said this was the 17th & the time was 23.40 when I pulled up to the barrier so what was the problem. I was then asked to put my booking form in front of the camera. I wax then told there was no time on the form & I would have to pay 33 to exit car park. I stated he had just told me my time expired at 23.55 hrs ! As my parking was up to the 17th again what was the issue ? After more exchanges I was eventually let out. Staff were very helpful & friendly, everything went smoothly, the only thing was the radio alarm went off every couple of mins from 3.30am this had obviously been set by previous occupants but hotel staff should have checked that this was off ...not amused as we were having to wake up at 4.00 as it was this was mentioned at checkout....also hair in hand basin !! Holiday Inn Derby It is a very nice hotel. Clean, pleasant staff, good dcor.<br /> Any extras like the minibar, bar or restaurant are really expensive. If the prices were better we would have ate there. Express by Holiday Inn On arrival at Holiday Inn we were informed the room had been booked for the following day. Luckily the duty Manager was able to give us the last available room.
