Airparks Self Park Birmingham Airport All went well except for having to wait for a bus to take us back to car. This has happened every time we have used Airparks. The last thing you want is to have to wait for a bus, then get people pushing in, and then not get a seat on the bus. Airparks Self Park Birmingham Airport It seems like airparks and aph have merged, the logo's are displayed together on signs. There are two buses that come to the BHX stand, carrying both logo's. Each one only takes people with a specific ticket colour. I think it would be a good idea to display ticket colour on bus front. It would save the driver a lot of time. At 70+ and with severe arthritis I found it very hard at the end of a very long day to get right to the far end of the site to retrieve my car. Travelling alone and at close to midnight, when only one or two were on the shuttle bus I also found it rather frightening that I seemed to be totally alone in an area where the lighting was not too good and there was no staff member to help me find my car. Also on the way out to the airport we sat on the back row of the shuttle bus registration GP53 APS. Here we were greeted by a giant crop of mushrooms growing next to the seats. This showed how often the bus was cleaned... quite disturbing and off putting as our first part of our holiday venture. Even though I was insured, I still had to pay almost half the price of a week's booking. The Bus arrived the driver did everything he could to get us on the first bus but we agreed to wait for the next. Airparks Self Park Birmingham Airport The directions we were given for finding air parks on the day of departure were different torthe previous time we travelled to you, and we ended up getting a little lost on the way in as we decided to follow the old route, turning right for garrets green as we re-called !?.... (but this was our own doing and no fault of air parks ). The service was straight forward and helpful on arrival, but I would certainly like to acknowledge the outstanding service of the bus driver who picked us up for our arrival home (AP2) on Xmas day evening from flight Tom from Cape Verde. He put himself out to load everyone’s suitcases,both on and off the bus, even moving his bus forward to help out a couple who couldn’t get their trolley passed a shelter. Then on arrival at air parks, he was very helpful in showing people how to use the automated system for collection of keys, so we would personally like to say a huge thank you to him, and would definitely use air parks again in the future, and recommend them to others. Airparks Self Park Birmingham Airport On my arrival I enjoyed being told I was in the wrong lane with no explanation as to why, I further enjoyed having to move to a different entrance lane. Then your staff couldn't find my flight and kept questioning me as to why they couldn't find it. Finally I received a slip of paper and told to drive to section 'K'. I then had to manoeuvre my car back out of the correct lane that I was wedged into only to then drive through the lane I was originally in. And finally on my return the buss driver kept insisting I had to pick up keys and pointing me to the office when in fact I was jingling the keys in front of him. I had some issues finding the place using my GPS system, so getting there took longer than anticipated. In addition, there was a long line at the counter to do the "check-in", which had to be done even though I purchased the self-park option. Both of these delays significantly increased the travel stress level, so I would recommend to give yourself plenty of time to drop the car off at the Airparks lot. Airparks Self Park Birmingham Airport Everything. We parked up and only had a short walk to the bus stop waited 2 mins and bus came dropped us right opposite departures. On our return it was about 1245am and we only had to wait about 5 mins for bus. Off the bus and as we were self park we were on our way within 10 mins. The only thing I can say negative is you really need a sat nav as the instructions given weren't very specific. Shuttle bus was waiting and took about 10-15 mins to arrive at Birmingham Airport right outside departure lounge. Return journey back was very easy and convenient.
