This is the second time this has happened to us at East Midlands this year, we have had to push the button to ask for assistance both times. On arrival number plate recognition did not work, reversed and tried again three times,eventually had to scan the barcode from my booking slip. On departure again number plate recognition would not work, had to reverse out of the way twice to let cars behind me through, tried again without success, tried to scan the barcode several times,no good. Eventually rang through for assistance and after a further minute was allowed out. Very frustrating when you want to get on your journey. Long Stay 2 East-midlands Airport You are guaranteed to park in a secure car park. Shuttle bus was clean & driver was friendly and ran on time. The only small issue we had was on our return the bus intercom was abit misleading regarding drop off points & car hire stops. We were parked at C.Park 2 but thought bus was going to c.hire stop so stayed on bus & had to go round all the stops before getting back to car park 2. If I didn't know my way around the general area, I would have struggled. The local map also showed a slightly different location for Long Stay 2. Bus to terminal was only a few mins walk from my parking spot, got me to terminal in no time! My only disappointment was on my return the bus was super crowded, I heard the announcement for long stay 2 was the next stop, bus the bus didn't stop I asked the driver who was sarcastic & rude sayin you got to press the bell! & I ain't a mind reader, then stopped to let off some airport workers at an unofficial stop, another woman asked if that was the stop for carpark 1 & he said does this look like a carpark! When the bus did stop at the next official stop I got off & walked back to my carpark! After a very long journey & flight I Wasn't in the mood for this rude driver! Long Stay 2 East-midlands Airport Nice spot close to airport and regular friendly bus. However arrived and barrier didn't go up so husband got a token which when we departed, again barrier didn't go up, entered token to see it said we owed £80+! We had already paid and prebooked! It was 3 am no one about, eventually someone answered the buzzer who said we should not have taken a token but to buzz him on arrival. I think instructions should be on the arrival to say this?? Long Stay 2 East-midlands Airport Pick up was good as was drop off however getting out was a pain. Registration identifier system failed so could not exit. Assistant was unaware that I had paid for this aaccess and egress and as such asked me to put in token which I didn't have. Long Stay 2 East-midlands Airport Car park 5 was close to the terminal but sadly not signposted anywhere at the last junction. We had to go into car-perk 4 to seek assistance. On our return the traffic was totally jammed and one of the shuttle bus drivers kindly walked us to where the bus was held up (near a roundabout) so that we could be picked up and on our way quicker.
