Before Boarding at Prestwick Airport


Glasgow Prestwick Airport suggests that passengers boarding international flights arrive at least three hours before departure time, and one and a half hours prior to departure for domestic flights. It is important to remember that check-in is the last time you can put any items into your hold luggage. After this point, any items surrendered at security will be destroyed.

Parking

Glasgow Prestwick Airport offer a wide variety of parking products located on site to avoid any unnecessary transfer and travel arrangements. The car park booking system allows you to book, cancel, or amend your booking online.

There are four different car park options for Parking at Prestwick Airport available: Pickup & Drop off, Prestwick Short Stay, Prestwick Mid & Long stay, and Watsons Ayr Park. The pickup & drop off areas allow for a five minute free period to avoid any unnecessary parking charges. The short stay, and mid & long stay car parks are both nearby the Terminal and located on airport, no more than a few minutes’ walk away. The Watsons Ayr Park is a self-park car park offering a 24 hour shuttle bus to the terminal and low cost airport parking for the long term.

Hand luggage & liquids

Passengers are now allowed to carry more than one item of hand luggage through security, but it is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that you are aware of the allowances around the weight and size of your luggage. It is also possible that your airline may only allow one item of hand luggage per person. All liquids being carried in hand luggage must be packed into re-sealable, transparent, plastic bags which are available for £1 from the airport.

Security

All passengers are required to go through security screening process prior to boarding the aeroplane. It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that they arrive at the airport early enough to get through check-in and security before departure.
