New Flights From Glasgow to Brussels
March 2005 - SN Brussels Airlines is to launch a new service from Glasgow to Brussels. The airline will offer 9 flights a week to Brussels, from 2 June 2005.The news will act as a major boost to the Glasgow city`s financial sector. Giving the city direct access to a European hub and a most vibrant capital city.
Stephen Baxter , Managing Director of Glasgow Airport is delighted to welcome this important new route:
"We have made a determined effort to increase the number of direct international flights available from Glasgow, working in partnership with Glasgow City Council and the local Tourist Board. This joined-up approach is winning new routes for Glasgow and helping to put our city on the map as an international destination."
Glasgow Airport is the busiest of Scotland's three main international airports dealing with over 7.9 million passengers a year. Glasgow airport is situated eight miles to the west of Glasgow city and is within easy reach of the rest of Scotland. Because of the easy access to Glasgow by road an increasing number of passengers choose the freedom of driving to the airport and using the airport car parks while they are away.
